Exterior painting can be little more extensive when it comes to preparation and painting.  With all the outdoor exposure from weather condition like freezing, steaming hot humid days and direct sun UV light prepping has got to be spot on with every crack and crevice.  Pressure washing is one of the number one preparation steps in exterior painting.  Due to all conditions not only does the preparation have to be done right, but each coat applied has to be done correctly along with the right temperature that applies's for that brand of paint.  Be sure to use a high-grade caulking 40+ years with a strong durable 100% acrylic exterior paint.   It will cost more but the results will last much longer leaving a better quality job at the end.
